You’re about to visit Antigua and Barbuda, one of the Caribbean’s most breathtaking island destinations — so get ready for a trip that can be as relaxed or as adventurous as you want it to be.
In Antigua, you’ll be surrounded by powder-soft white sand beaches and hidden coves framed by crystal-clear turquoise water. Whether you’re planning to unwind with a coffee at a beachside café or spend hours swimming and snorkeling among vibrant marine life, the island makes it easy to slow down and soak it all in.
Be sure to start at Nelson’s Dockyard, a beautifully restored Georgian naval dockyard and UNESCO World Heritage Site. From there, wander around English Harbour, where you can enjoy waterfront views and try local favourites like fungie and saltfish at one of the charming harbourfront restaurants.
If you’re up for a little adventure, take the scenic trail up to Shirley Heights. The panoramic views over the harbour are unforgettable — especially around sunset.
If your trip falls at the end of April, you might catch the excitement of Antigua Sailing Week, one of the Caribbean’s top sailing events. Even if not, you can still experience the sea with a luxury yacht charter, or try diving, snorkeling, and kitesurfing in the island’s warm, inviting waters.
You’ll find plenty of family-friendly resorts where calm, shallow shores create the perfect playground for children.
Whether you plan to explore every corner or simply relax under the sun, Antigua is ready to welcome you with stunning scenery, rich history, and unforgettable island charm.
