Day 01

AIRPORT / KOTUGODA

Welcome to Sri Lanka, the ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean’!

On arrival in Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport, you’re met by your private chauffeur-guide and driven to your hotel which is only 30-40 minutes away from airport. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 02

KOTUGODA / SIGIRIYA 

Breakfast in the hotel.

Check-out from your hotel and proceed to Sigiriya, home to vibrantly decorated cave-temples and a great base to explore the wide array of natural wonders and historic sites in this fascinating area.

Welcome to your hotel, Water Garden where luxury meets nature surrounded by lakes & water streams. The breathtakingly beautiful Sigiriya hotel boasts a modern-day water harvesting design revisiting the 2,000-year-old water garden on Sigiriya Rock.

Day 03

SIGIRIYA / SIGIRIYA / MINNERIYA / SIGIRIYA

In the morning, start with a visit to the Landmark of this country, the 5th-century legendary sky citadel of “Lion Rock” – arguably the most impressive site in Sri Lanka; although a steep climb is requested, the story behind the monument, and the panoramic view of Dambulla seen on the top are definitely worth the effort.

In the afternoon, continue your exploration in a rural village. Travel into the lush Sri Lankan countryside in a tuk tuk. Hop into a bullock cart alongside paddy fields and rural vegetable plantations. At dusk, take a boat ride and sail to the other side of a lake, enjoying the fantastic sunset view, and looking out for birds, butterflies, as well as the villagers fishing or washing clothes at the periphery of the lake.

In the late afternoon visit Minneriya. Being part of the elephant corridor which joins up with Kaudulla and Wasgomuwa parks, Minneriya National Park affords the opportunity to sight herds of Elephants throughout the year. During the year up to 300 elephants are seen at the 8,890-hectare park within a few square kilometres of the Minneriya Reservoir. In August and September each year during the dry season, wild elephants from the surrounding wilderness in search of food and water, makes their way to the shores of the Minneriya Reservoir adjoining the Minneriya National Park. Huge herd of elephants, sometimes numbering up to 300, converge together within a few square kilometres of the lake.

Day 04

SIGIRIYA / POLONNARUWA / SIGIRIYA

Breakfast in the hotel.

Proceed to visit the Medieval Capital of Polonnaruwa.

Polonnaruwa was the island’s medieval capital between the 11th and 13th century. Built alongside a large ancient artificial lake there are well-preserved ruins of palaces, bathing pools, stupas and exquisite rock sculptures of Buddha at the Gal Vihara. Start with a visit to the museum which, although small, is excellent.

Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.

You will have the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 05

SIGIRIYA / DAMBULLA / KANDY

Breakfast in the hotel.

Today, get started with the famous Dambulla Cave Temple, home to many magnificent Buddha images and rock painting dating back to 2nd century BC. Then head for Ceylon’s old capital of Kandy (approx. 3 hours by road), en route stop for an interesting visit to learn a wide range of spices at the Spice Garden, whose 15-minute complimentary Ayurveda Massage is also highly recommended.

Arrive at your hotel in Kandy and check-in. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 06

KANDY

Breakfast at the hotel.

In the morning, take an interesting visit to Royal Botanical Garden of Peradeniya which boasts 300+ varieties of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees at. Afterwards you could explore the city with your chauffeur, e.g. walking around Kandy Lake in city centre or go some shopping in the downtown markets.

In the evening walk to the nearby Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic – Sri Lanka’s most sacred Buddhist shrine, the Puja Ritual held in the temple with all the fanfare, drums, trumpets and brightly colored Monks definitely shows you how special and spiritually important the temple means to Sri Lanka.

Day 07

KANDY / HATTON 

After breakfast, set off for Hatton by train (subjected to availability), a picturesque journey packed with beautiful mountains, waterfalls and tea plantations. Upon your arrival at the Hatton Railway Sation, your chauffeur guide picks you up and escort you to your Bungalow.

Situated at an altitude of 1250 metres near Hatton in central Sri Lanka, the resort borders the World Heritage Central Highlands and offers breath-taking panoramas of mountains and lush tea fields. Each bungalow is unique and exudes its own exquisite ambiance while offering guests the non-hotel, private house ambience that is the hallmark of the award-winning, “all-inclusive” Tea Trails experience.

Rest of the day is at your leisure after check-in.

Day 08

HATTON

Breakfast at the hotel.

You will have the day leisure to enjoy the activities provided by the hotel.

In the afternoon, pay a visit to a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the world’s best Ceylon Tea is produced.

Overnight stay at your hotel in Hatton.

Day 09

Breakfast at the hotel.

Check out from your hotel and head for Colombo Airport. Here you will continue on to the Maldives. Transfer by speedboat taxi to South Ari Atoll. 

You will spend the next six nights here in one of the 193 Superb rooms and suites along the waters edge of a two mile long beach of fine white powder, or treat yourself to a room perched on stilts above a tranquil lagoon that holds the key to yet another Prestige World luxury Maldives holiday. Choose between sunrise or sunset views – both will enchant and excite your senses.

Day 09-14

Relax at your exquisite hotel in the Maldives – South Ari Atoll for some luxurious rest and relaxation.
